Terms and Conditions

General provisions

1.1. Service provider details

The Shipify.hu package forwarding service is operated by:

The Service Provider has elected exempt status under Hungarian VAT law; therefore invoices do not include VAT.

1.2. Scope and acceptance of these Terms

These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern the package forwarding service available via the Shipify.hu website and the customer panel (panel.shipify.hu).

By completing registration and using the service, the Customer expressly accepts the full content of these Terms. If the Customer does not accept the Terms, they are not entitled to use the service.

1.3. Definitions

  • Customer: Any natural or legal person who uses the Shipify.hu services.
  • Customer ID: The unique identifier assigned to the customer (e.g. SHP-HU-1234), to be used to identify packages.
  • Package: Any postal item or goods sent by the Customer to the operating site address.
  • Forwarding: Dispatch of the package by courier to the destination address provided by the Customer.

Description of the service

As part of Shipify.hu, the Service Provider performs the following:

  • Personal shipping address: Every registered customer receives a unique Customer ID and an associated address format (1182 Budapest, Hímesháza utca 4.).
  • Package intake: Packages arriving at the operating site address that can be identified by Customer ID are received and logged.
  • Storage: Received packages are stored at the operating site until the Customer provides instructions (free of charge for 30 days).
  • Package forwarding: Upon the Customer's request, the package is shipped to a domestic or international destination at the prevailing rates.
  • Customer panel: On panel.shipify.hu the Customer can track their packages and initiate forwarding.

Shipify.hu performs only intermediary package forwarding; it is not a carrier, customs agent or insurer. Responsibility for the contents and origin of packages lies with the Customer.

Registration and user account

Use of the service requires registration at panel.shipify.hu/register. Required data: full name, email address, password, phone number. The Customer is required to provide accurate information.

Account activation

After registration, the Service Provider's administrator activates the account and notifies the Customer by email of the unique Customer ID. Activation typically takes place within 1 business day.

Account security and suspension

The Customer is responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential. The Service Provider is entitled to suspend the account in case of breach of these Terms, false data, activity related to prohibited shipments, 12 months of inactivity, or upon a request from authorities.

Packages without the identifier may be refused by the Service Provider. The Service Provider is not liable for any damage arising from this.

Upon receipt the administrator records the arrival date, sender, estimated weight and a short description. The Customer receives an email notification. The Service Provider may refuse package intake in case of prohibited contents, lack of identification, or dutiable goods.

4.3. Package size and weight limits

The Service Provider accepts packages for forwarding subject to the following maximum size and weight limits:

How to compute girth: measure the package's longest side (length), then add twice the width and twice the height.

Example: a 60×40×30 cm package's girth = 60 + 2×40 + 2×30 = 200 cm ✓

Packages exceeding the size limits may be refused for forwarding by the Service Provider, or accepted under custom pricing. It is the Customer's responsibility to verify at the time of ordering that the dimensions of the desired item meet the above limits.

Prohibited and restricted shipments

  • Explosives, fireworks, ammunition
  • Firearms and their parts
  • Toxic, radioactive substances
  • Narcotics, psychotropic substances
  • Live animals
  • Human/animal remains
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Cash, securities
  • Goods obtained illegally
  • Pornographic material

Restricted shipments (require prior approval)

  • ! Alcohol exceeding 5 litres
  • ! Tobacco products (subject to excise duty regulations)
  • ! Medicines (import/export permits required)
  • ! Dangerous goods (e.g. lithium batteries — subject to IATA/ADR rules)
  • ! High-value electronics over HUF 300,000

In the event of sending prohibited goods, all legal and financial consequences are borne by the Customer. The Service Provider is entitled to notify authorities and immediately suspend the account.

Fees are payable in advance; the Service Provider only dispatches packages once the fee has been received. Prices listed here are indicative; up-to-date prices can be viewed in the customer panel after free registration. The Service Provider is VAT-exempt under Hungarian law.

Refunds: Once forwarding has commenced (handover to courier), the fee is non-refundable. If failure is due to fault of the Service Provider, the fee is refunded or free re-shipment is provided.

The package forwarding process

Package statuses

Arrived The package has arrived at the operating site and has been logged.
Processing The administrator inspects, weighs and photographs the package.
Ready to forward The package has been processed; the Customer can request forwarding.
Forwarding Handed to the courier; tracking number available.
Forwarded Delivered to the destination address.

To order forwarding, the Customer must provide the full destination details (name, street, postal code, city, country) and a phone number in the customer panel. The Service Provider hands the package to the courier on the next business day. Customs handling fees for non-EU shipments are borne by the Customer.

Storage and liability

Received packages are stored free of charge for 30 calendar days from receipt. After day 30 a storage fee of HUF 100/day per package applies. If the Customer fails to instruct on the package within 90 days, the Service Provider may declare it abandoned and may dispose of or donate it.

Inviolability of packages

The Service Provider does not open, examine or inspect the contents of packages.

Under Hungarian Act CLIX of 2012 on postal services and Article VI of the Fundamental Law, the contents of sealed mail are protected by mail privacy. The Service Provider handles packages solely on the basis of external labelling, weight and size.

The Service Provider has neither the right, the authority, nor the means to inspect the contents of packages. Responsibility for the contents, lawfulness and customs obligations lies solely with the Customer. In the event of an authority's request, the Service Provider cooperates with the competent authorities under applicable law.

Limitation of liability

  • Damages arising from the unknown contents of the package
  • Force majeure (natural disaster, action by authorities)
  • Damage or loss caused by the courier
  • Damage from incorrect address or instructions
  • Damage caused by inadequate packaging

The Service Provider's total liability for any single package shall not exceed five times the forwarding fee for that package. Packages are not insured; the Customer may take out insurance at their own discretion.

Complaints and dispute resolution

The Customer may submit complaints by email (hello@shipify.hu) or by post (1081 Budapest, Alföld utca 18. 2nd floor, door 47, Hungary). The Service Provider will respond substantively within 5 business days.

Amendments to these Terms

The Service Provider reserves the right to unilaterally amend these Terms. Customers will be notified of amendments by email at least 15 days in advance, and the amended Terms will be published on the website. If the Customer does not accept the amendment, they may terminate the contract with immediate effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

Governing law and final provisions

These Terms are governed by Hungarian law, in particular the Civil Code (Act V of 2013), the Consumer Protection Act (Act CLV of 1997) and the e-Commerce Act (Act CVIII of 2001).

For corporate Customers, the parties hereby agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Budapest-Capital Regional Court. Invalidity of any provision of these Terms shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
